Every October here in Kingston, Ontario Canada, a historic city of 170,000 population, the Bayside Inn & Waterfront Suites becomes the epicenter of paranormal activity. Despite encounters with hotel “guests who check out but never leave” are experienced the year-round in this 22-room waterfront boutique hotel, there seems to be an exponentially growing presence of ghosts during the weeks just prior to Halloween.

It is said that the ghosts of Fort Henry soldiers and Sir John A McDonald – the first Prime Minister of Canada- were once regular hotel guests here.  Even today, especially near the brink of Halloween, many guests have reported seeing ghosts roaming in their rooms during the middle of the night.

Both of these malls are only a 4-5 minute drive from the hotel. The King’s Crossing fashion outlets is also another popular shopping attraction for visitors to take advantage of big savings at brand name outlet stores.

To supplement the list even more, you can take a stroll downtown, only a 15 minute drive from the hotel. Historic Kingston, a small city with a population of 125,000, is not so small when it comes to shopping choices. Cool chains like American Apparel, Indigo, Gap, and Lulu Lemon, are just a few names on the list.

Exploring Kingston would not be the same without visiting the historic market square every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday for fresh local produce and crafts, while the antiques showings happen every Sunday.
